Grace Viere, Ph.D.

Licensed Professional Counselor

Dr. Viere earned a Bachelor's degree from The University of Maine in 1988 with dual majors in Elementary and Special Education and a minor in Psychology. She went on to earn her Master's degree in Counseling from The George Washington University in Washington, DC in 1991. She received her Ph.D. from The University of Virginia in 2000. Dr. Viere has worked extensively in both school and mental health settings for over 15 years with individuals, couples, adolescents, and children.

Dr. Viere believes that all people have strengths and capabilities that can be developed to help them lead healthy and meaningful lives. She is committed to the journey of self-discovery and emotional healing. She strives to foster a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship so that together, she and the client can understand and explore how past experiences influence self-perceptions and relationship patterns.

Dr. Viere's approach is grounded in the perspective that greater self-awareness and insight, when reached through a collaborative process, gradually leads to behavioral change. This allows individuals to experience relief from stress and greater satisfaction in their lives and relationships.
