Unfortunately, there are few therapists with the appropriate training to treat OCD and related conditions using Exposure and Ritual/Response Prevention (ERP) — the gold standard for this disabling condition. Many people across the US and in other countries cannot access qualified care near their homes. For this reason we offer online therapy to individuals by video conference, using Skype or GoToMeeting. We also offer intensive treatment programs for OCD for those coming from out-of-town. Contact us for more information.
Recently, the Power to Change with Charla Young recorded a special episode focused on OCD. Psychologist Dr. L. Kevin Chapman and local psychiatrist Dr. Brian Briscoe served as expert consultants on the show to explain psychological and drug treatments for the disorder. Darlene Davis, M.A., our pediatric OCD clinician, demonstrated Exposure and Ritual/Response Prevention techniques during the episode. A recent client of Dr. Monnica Williams, tells his story of pedophile obsessions that led to suicidal thoughts. Watch it now.
